spring ’23

FOP in Philadelphia grinning around murdered civilian

(stolen from myself over at COYOTE STEALS FIRE)

Acteaon said “hey babe, take a walk on the wild side.”
To one he would worship, but still felt reviled by; try as he might he could not shift her mind, but in time his shape changed, and he left that behind.

If I tell you what I done, would you lead the wild hunt,
Barking, biting at my heels, long as I might choose to run-
But if perchance, I chose to stand, and take whatever fate you grant, then would you check the dogs you loosed, or is it always tooth for tooth?

I broke my own, solemn oath;

Two paths diverged I took the low (and her the blows).
But no one knows the way I loathe, myself for how I lost control.
I beg mercy and forgiveness, help me shift the heavy load-
That presses down, upon my conscience, like to never let me go.

And if she found it in her heart, to give a chance at loves reclaiming, swear to falter nevermore;

if not
Then let the hounds come baying.
